God's Will In All Things

What is the will of God when it comes to going to the movies as a Christian, joining a club, social drinking, attending church, and all the other everyday little choices you have?
No matter what you do the Bible says this, “whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.” Phil 4:8
It is God’s will that you think about good, true, pure, virtuous things; in other words, think about HIM!
Let’s look at eating and drinking; therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Cor 10:31
It’s easy to bow your head and pray over a meal at home or at McDonalds.
But are you going to bow your head in the bar and praise God for your Bud Light?
Are you going to maintain an apparent Christian persona while social drinking with many that don’t know Jesus as their Savior?
You may think that there is a time for drinking and a time for preaching.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Col 3:17
If you can glorify God by your actions and by your words in whatever you are doing, then whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, Col 3:23
If you can bring honor to God in your social club, then join it. Glorify God at your club.
If you go to church and forget what is said and done, something is wrong. Is it the church or is it you. Glorify God in the church.
Now I realize that there is a lot of things that we all do that has very little to do with God but is not [as] harmful.
There may not be anything wrong with a animated movie with the kids but you know as well as I do how many other horribly obscene movies there are out there.
Many movies have anti-Christian themes; dealing in Buddhism or some mysticism.
I am guilty of it too!
Hopefully you’ll be like me and desire to do better and “meditate on these things” that are eternal and of God.

  1. Whose who say Jesus would enjoy a beer & watch the girls don’t know the Jesus I know. Yes, there is a time and a place for everything. We are to use good sence. Hold everthing up to the word if it fits go for it, if not go away from it!
