Uno – It Means One!

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one , as You, Father , are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:20-21
What a great week of church camp I had.
Our former Educational Director wrote a lesson on unity called Uno, It Means One!
The entire lesson series taught the importance and commandment from God’s word to be one with each other and one with God.
Throughout the week we did a series of fun games that also emphasized working together in unity.
The one that stood out in my mind the most is where each kid was tied to another with a 10-foot piece of yarn.
The only problem was the yarn was tangled with the yarn of all the other kids.
They were to untangle themselves without using their hands; they had to work together.
One young man, JC, took over as leader and began to direct which kid should go over or under what pieces of yarn.
Soon two kids were free, then two more and on until all were untangled.
We learned the lesson that to work together as one, there must be a leader, someone with the vision of purpose, in this case, untangle and free all the kids.
Another lesson we learned is this, when you get through with your job or part, get out of the way and encourage the others to continue.
It takes patience to work together as one; sometimes the project won’t happen quickly; it could take time.
Churches need to learn the same lesson.
Our leader is the Holy Spirit and the pastor.
The pastor needs to prayerfully keep his mind from distractions and continue to move forward to the goal of saving souls through the Gospel of Jesus.
Others can help by moving in unison, as one, toward the same goal of lifting up the name of Jesus.
Let’s get untangled from the world and stand, tied together in Christ!
