Great Disaster – Second Death

The next disaster is the greatest that will face mankind.
Rev 20:12-15 tells of this disaster; I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
The Day of Judgment is not a happy day; it’s not a day in which we can brag and say, “That person finally got what’s coming to them!”
It’s a sad day, a horrid day, a day of tears, grief, and regret; a day of begging and pleading but it is all a day too late.
With most disasters you don’t know anything about them until they happen.
It was hard to predict the eruption of Krakatoa, the 2011 Japanese earthquake, or the downing of the Twin Towers.
But we know about the disasters we’ve looked at in this series; each one is predicted.
It may catch some by surprise but shouldn’t; it’s predicted.
The Bible has given us clarity that these things which must shortly take place. Rev 1:1
Many will ignore the warning, the prophesy and may realize another fact about this disaster, it is permanent.
There is no 2nd chance, no going back, and no opportunity for redemption. Those days are over and their condemnation is eternal.
It is written he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation. Mark 3:29
There is nowhere in the Bible where it says you can escape from hell, the lake of fire, or this judgment.; quite the opposite.
A rich man lifted up his eyes in hell and was told, “And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.” Luke 16:26
Don’t let this depress you; there is hope!
This disaster may be permanent but right now – today, it is preventable.
You and those you know and love can have their names added to the Book of Life by accepting Jesus as Savior.
You are told that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” Rom 10:9-11
Don’t put it off; though it is predicted, its exact timing is still unknown.

  1. I love that verse, Romans 10:9-11 “…with the mouth confession is make unto Salvation”. What a shame many don’t dig deeper to learn more of God. Like fear is a spirit that God does not give His kids. Or how Jesus said we’d do greater things than these. Lord have mercy on all of us.
