It’s not what you say; it’s how you live

There is a verse that gives great wisdom when it comes to crimes against one another; Never convict anyone of a crime on the testimony of just one witness. The facts of the case must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Deut 19:15 NLT
Today a testimony may come from an eye witness or forensic science.
I love to watch TV shows that deal with the latter; I find it very fascinating the way DNA is processed, how bullets are examined, and the study of human anatomy.
It is becoming more and more difficult to get away with a crime and even those convicted years ago can be declared innocent through new advances in forensics.
My last Morning Thought was a look at the testimony of a person as they transform from a sinful, self-destructive life to God’s forgiveness, righteousness, and eternal life.
I thought Don’s testimony was wonderful but a testimony is more than the words you say about yourself; it is the words that others say about you!
I believe Don’s testimony because I am a witness of the Godly side of it.
But consider the testimony that everyone that knows you or meets you would say about you.
Are there enough witnesses, testimony, and evidence for you to be convicted as a Christian?
What can others say about you that indicates you are a Christian?
What is the evidence in your life to support your claim that you are a Christian?
For you to have a Christian testimony that is supported by your life, you will need to heed the words of Ps 119:129 – Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.
It is not a testimony of your goodness, kindness, and righteousness, but it is a testimony of what the Lord God has done to you and through you!
It is not a testimony of mere words but is a testimony of holy living!

  1. I agree. I also believe in the saying, “actions speak louder than words.” Actions can reflect so much about a person in so many ways.
