Memorable Scripture: Praise God not self.

Proverbs 27:2
Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth;
A stranger, and not your own lips.

I have heard some self-praise individuals in my lifetime. I hope I’m not one of them.
I recall two men I worked with one time, each more sure of his importance over the other. It sounded like a bragger’s convention.
Patting yourself on the back is a good way to get a broken arm!

For years I’ve listened and watch people and learned many important values.

  1. You don’t always need to comment when someone else is talking.
  2. If someone is sharing about their struggles, there is no need to try and out-do them with your troubles.
  3. There’s no need to keep asking “how did I do?”
  4. Biblically speaking, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.
  5. And esteem others higher than yourself.

We’re encouraged to take on the attitude of Christ Jesus.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Phil 2:5-8
