Memorable Scripture: They would not burn.

Daniel 3:25
“Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

The king generously gave Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego another opportunity to bow down to his idol.
They immediately refused.
The king ordered them executed.
The three would not bow, they would not bend, and it’s soon discovered they would not burn.
The men were cast into a huge fire that was so hot it incinerated the men ordered to execute the three.
Then the impossible happened – Nebuchadnezzar saw four men unharmed and walking around in the fire. “The fourth is like the Son of God.”
You might think that something like this could not happen today. I’ve heard many accounts of similar stories of miraculous rescues from persecution and death.
I also know stories of those that were killed because of their Christian belief, starting with Stephen in Acts 7.
Whether they lived or died, each was willing to die for Christ rather than recant their faith.
For the Christian – to live is Christ to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)
