Memorable Scripture: Day of the Lord

Amos 5:18-19
Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord!
For what good is the day of the Lord to you?
It will be darkness, and not light.
It will be as though a man fled from a lion,
And a bear met him!
Or as though he went into the house,
Leaned his hand on the wall,
And a serpent bit him!

I desire the day of the Lord!
The Day of the Lord often defined as the return of Jesus, most often right before His reign. Although for many it is defined also by the rapture.
The return of Jesus is an end of life as we know it. It changes everything – whether it’s the rapture or the return.
Evidently many desired that Day during Amos’ time. He told them it would not do them any good, like running from a lion and running into a bear instead.
The Day of the Lord also includes Judgment Day and unless you truly know Jesus as your Savior you cannot fare well.
Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matt 7:21-23
Make sure you are not one that says, “Wasn’t I baptized” or “Didn’t I go to church” but make certain of your salvation in Jesus.
