Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim |

| Good Morning! This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. |

Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the LORD. Josh 9:14
How often do you do something without asking counsel from God?
I must admit, I often lunge headlong into trying something, buying something, eating something, saying something, looking at something, or going somewhere without asking God.
Many times it turns out okay.
Then there are the other times when it becomes a mess.
It may seem a small trivial thing to ask God, “Can I go to McDonalds and buy a quarter-pounder with cheese?”
As a parent I’m honored when my grown children or son-in-law ask my advice.
That doesn’t go to say they always listen to me or that I’m always right but at least they ask.
Perhaps it is more the need for us to ask God’s advice about things. I’m sure if he didn’t approve He would let you know.
Had the Israelites asked God what was going on, they would have found out they were being deceived.
I remember how my grandmother Swanson was a praying woman, often asking for God’s direction.
It’s easy to seek counsel from the Almighty when we are at a dead end and don’t know where to go but how about those times we’re just a little unsure but rush into a decision anyway.
I don’t preach a message or write a devotion without asking God guidance.
And many times He’ll change my mind on what I wanted to say for today and make that one for next week.
Granted we have a free, independent will but that’s what got us into the sinful state we’re in to begin with.
So go ahead and ask Him, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Acts 9:6

we are studing the life not actually the book of Joshua in a women’s Bible study. This came up the other day. I must admit there are too many times I don’t inquire of the Lord first. A habit I am trying to break. Is it snowing on your site or what? maybe just dandriff.
