My cousin, Donna, in the early 1960’s

Not long after a child is born he/she begins to be introduced to the family.

I was no different. Of course, there’s mom and dad, which I began to see every day and it didn’t take long to get use to them. Since we lived close to where both my parents had graduated, I had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins fairly close. Continue reading

What I remember!

great snow of 60 copyIt’s strange to me the things one remembers in life.
It’s like I remember mom carrying me to the car and putting my shoes on but I don’t remember anything else around that time.
I’m not very sure that I can remember things in the right order. Continue reading

Called early?

renault“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” Jer 1:5

Thinking way back, I never really thought that God had some purpose for me – though I do now!
I’ve always believed in God but did not accept the forgiveness offered by Jesus until I was almost 18 years old. Continue reading

I will never…

never

I’ve heard many use the word “never” over the years.
I’ll never leave this church. I’ll never stop loving you. I’ll never do that again.
The word “never” is one that should be reserved for only God to use because only He can truly keep a promise.
Even the apostle had problems with people leaving him. Continue reading

Ephesians 2:1-10

graceOnce you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. Continue reading

But one day some men from the Synagogue of Freed Slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Jews from Cyrene, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia. None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke. Acts 6:8-10 Continue reading

One nation under God!

Beauty for Ashes

lubysI went to a gun show over the weekend, looking for a specific pistol or a concealed carry holster.
I did a sweep of the whole place, looking at guns mostly.
Then I came upon a vendor that was demonstrating a concealed holster. I liked the way it looked and its functionality. Continue reading

Linda and Lindsey in January 1983

We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Last night, while lying in bed, Linda and I began discussing the events of 30 years ago.
It was 1983 and about 2 o’clock in the morning she began to have some abdominal pains. They were intense enough to warrant waking me up. Continue reading

It’s Simple!

oncorFor the past two mornings I’ve faced problems with both of my radio transmitters.

First it was ice, not a real problem since the transmitter did just what it was suppose to – automatically fold back the power to keep from damaging the circuitry.
But then both transmitters shut down and I struggled with getting either back on-the-air. Continue reading
