Thinking And Meditating On Things!

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things. Phil 4:8
What do you think about?
Is it about your job?
Perhaps it’s about family or a ball game.
Hunting season is coming up and there are lots of people thinking about it.
Most think about some event that is nearing like hunting season, ball games, an exam, a visit to the doctor, or whatever.
As soon as one event is over there will be another to think of.
There is one thing that doesn’t come and go or change daily, and that’s God!
Despite the rigors of work, travel, church, and constantly keeping up the house, I find myself thinking more about my relationship with God.
I desire to read and learn more about what He wants us to do.
I end up meditating on those things that Paul spoke about; truth, nobility, justice, purity, loveliness, goodness, virtue, and praise.
These are the things that change a person eternally!
Ball games, hunting seasons, schooling, will all come and go.
Salvation is eternal.

What Are You Talking About Today?

Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, and lest you go among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, Josh 23:6-7
Are we talking more about “anything else” but God?
Today there will be an Islamic prayer rally on the steps of the Capitol.
Our…OUR…basic rights of Freedom of Religion has granted protection under the Constitution for this group to peacefully assemble and pray.
The same rights under the law have allowed us to start a church and me to pastor it for almost 10 years, and the same may be true about your church also.
And hopefully the message inside our churches is one of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, are we talking about other things that do not edify His name?
What is our subject of conversation outside the church?
Are we making mention of the name of their gods?
Will anyone receive The Salvation by the mentioning of those gods?
Perhaps this is why Paul said, “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” 1 Cor 2:1-2

There Is Still Time

I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: “Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.” Continue reading

Did Jesus Come Back…Did I Miss Him?

Look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28
This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven. Acts 1:11
It’s Saturday morning as I sit, write, and stare out my window waiting the arrival of the Savior. Continue reading

As He Is As We Shall Be

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:2-3
We shall be like Him!
We shall see Him as He is!
I’ve often thought of those words and have thought about what He is like and what I will be like at His coming. Continue reading

Get Reacquainted!

I was reading about the end-time events in Matthew 24, when I came upon this verse; Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Matt 24:35
That is a powerful statement and I see something else in it; change, no change! Continue reading

You Formed (Cloned?) My Inward Parts

From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name. Isa 49:1
Yesterday I found an article about human cloning.
“If scientists will be using and cloning embryos only at a very early stage when they are just a handful of cells (say, before they are four days old), there is no good reason for a ban (on cloning),” wrote Cass Sunstein, who was confirmed by the Senate last week as administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
