forgiveNow concerning yesterday’s Foot-In-Mouth thought, it’s amazing how what is said is repeated over and over without mention of what is done about it.
In the case of Mr. MacRae, who originally wrote the letter of complaint, he issued an apology. Continue reading

Foot In Mouth

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

foot-in-mouthI received an email relating the following story.
I check it out with Snopes and, with a few minor mistakes in names, it is TRUE.

Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were.  A certain colonel and lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall. Continue reading

Put On What Armor?

morning thoughts

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

armorAnd a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. And he had bronze armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. 1 Sam 17:4-6
I was talking with someone the other day that kept telling me to “put on the armor”.
While I am fully aware of the Christian implications of that phrase, I am also aware that it is correct to say, “Put on the whole armor of God.” Eph 6:11
Any one can wear “an armor”! Continue reading

Let me first say that the mom got lots of great things for the little one.
There were cute little dresses, diapers, ointments, socks, shoes, and room decorations.
Now let me say that I’m a man and it was a baby shower! Continue reading

broken-foot1I met a lady yesterday on crutches with a broken foot so I asked her what happened.
“Do you want the made up, embellished version or the truth?” she said.
I told her to start with the made up story.
She told of going to Montana for Christmas and skiing on the slopes. Continue reading

I notice a few days ago that Google Earth has done the street view for Lufkin and Nacogdoches.
You can virtually drive down every street in those two cities.
The same may have been done around the area you live. Continue reading

president-obamaThe older counselors replied, “If you are willing to serve the people today and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects.” 1 Kings 12:7 NLT
But Rehoboam spoke harshly to them, for he rejected the advice of the older counselors and followed the counsel of his younger advisers. 1 Kings 12:13-14 NLT Continue reading

andygillilandLast time I left you in some suspense with something that surprised me.
It was quite a shock the other night when I met an old phone man I used to work with.
We talked a bit about the ol’ gang and then he said something about a phoneman being killed just a week or two ago.
He couldn’t remember the man’s name but then he didn’t recognize me either.
But he said he was married to T. A’s daughter.
It hit me like a ton of bricks. Continue reading
