Sound The Alarm

morning thoughts

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

thiefI was awakened by the sound of my cell phone going off but in the deep sleep that I was in, I just couldn’t rouse myself enough to answer it.
By the time I focused on the number that was calling it had gone to voicemail.
I waited until it signaled its completion and listened to the message.
As soon as I heard B&D Security, I knew there was a break-in at the church.
More than awake as this point, I threw on something and headed out in the frigid night air.
I arrived first and since I didn’t answer the alarm company, the other two that are called also drove up.
Being broke into or robbed 5 previous times has been expensive.
On day one I should have looked into a monitored alarm system.
As things get economically tougher, there are those that will seek any opportunity to take what is yours.
There was evidence the door had been jimmied but it doesn’t look like they made it into the church.
There is some damage to the door but nothing is missing.
The alarm saved us.
Satan is a thief and robber.
In the parable of the sower Jesus talks of the seed that falls by the wayside saying, “When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.” Mark 4:15
He seeks to take life, especially eternal life.
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Jesus is my alarm that keeps me safe and secure.
At the sound of that Alarm, demons flee, minds and hearts change, and lives are saved.
Go ahead, sound THE ALARM!

  1. I almost said “I don’t believe it’s happened again,” but in light of the times we’re living in, nothing would surprise me now. There was a story on the ABC station out of Tyler yesterday evening about how the economy is affecting churches there. The pastors interviewed mentioned that they are being more careful in their spending, and keeping a tighter budget. Part of the headline spoke of possible layoffs at churches, but I don’t think that referred to churches in the Tyler area. But, I could see it happening at some of the so-called mega churches.
    God bless you!

  2. Praise God for the alarm, it takes a pretty low person to rob a church, but we know satan comes to steal and destroy. I pray blessings upon Crossroads, and a hedge of protection around it. I too am waiting for that alarm, when the Lord sounds His trumpet, and takes us all home, I pray everyone is ready on that day. We know it wont be long now, we are seeing the signs all around us everyday. May the Lord keep His hand upon Crossroads and bless it mightly, Love and many prayers going up for you all, Pat

  3. I too am glad that nothing was taken this time. Maybe you should put the “girls” there and they can scare away all the bad guys~or at least lick them to death.

  4. IT’S SUCH A BLESSING THAT YOU HAVE THE ALARM SYSTEM. I AM PRAYING FOR THE ONES WHO WERE IN SUCH NEED THAT THEY WOULD STEAL FROM A CHURCH. I DONT WANT TO BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE WOULD DO THAT OUT OF MISCHIEF. I AM PRAYING THEY WILL BE CAUGHT AND STOPPED.
