Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

Linda and I were talking about why our church seems to be hated so much.
Our first year in the new sanctuary got us 7 broken windows on one side of the church.
There was glass scattered over an area of 2500 square feet.
We have been robbed on five different occasions.
Someone scribbled obscenities on the front door.
People are constantly dumping their trash, empty beer cans, and dirty diapers in our driveway.
Some take the liberty to spin their wheels and sling gravel all over the place.
There was the mysterious person that bent one of the metal posts that holds up the front awning.
People have relieved themselves around the church (a few were caught on video).
We are a young church, only 9 years old so why are we so despised.
Of course the answer is found in the Bible.
Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” John 15:18
I believe I can live with that answer.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matt 5:11-12
It’s getting better!
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; Matt 5:44-45
I’m feeling much better now!
