Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

You’ll notice that you don’t give the same gifts to different people.
For instance, I may treat my wife to a dinner out or a weekend getaway.
My oldest daughter and son-in-law I would give a gift card to their favorite restaurant.
My youngest daughter might get a new pair of boots, pants, and shirts.

Then there are the grands. (the children not the biscuits)
Haylee would be happy with a new movie on DVD or a Barbie doll.
Braeden would take a toy gun or a new fighting game for the Nintendo.
And what would anyone get me?
I’ll take and eat or spend anything.
Each of us would give or get a different gift.
Wouldn’t you know that God is way ahead of us.
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Cor 12:4-11
There is One gift-giver but He supplies differently for each of us.
Don’t be jealous when someone gets something that you didn’t.
Be joyful for what you did receive.
