Keep Your Eyes On The Road

As you may know by now, Kimberly and the grandchildren were in a 1 car accident which totaled the auto and broke Kimberly’s ankle.

The children are suffering from seatbelt burns and a little trauma.

Haylee wants me to drive slower when she’s in the van with me as she’s afraid of having another wreck.

How did it all happen?

Kimberly may have taken her eyes off the road for a split second as she rounded a curve.

That’s our best guess.

It’s entirely probable since taking your eyes off the objective will cause you to stray from the projected path.

It’s like seeing a jet flying high in the sky.

You follow it as it gets smaller and smaller in the distance.

Glance away for just a moment and you just can’t seem to find the jet any more.

Better yet, take your eyes off Jesus and see what happens.

And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” Matt 14:29-30

Peter began to pay more attention to the wind and waves and took his eyes away from Jesus.

The result; he sunk!

We are reminded by Solomon to Let your eyes look straight ahead. Prov 4:25

Lot’s wife looked back and didn’t survive it.

Jesus said, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

So in driving, in walking, in running, and in Christianity, look straight ahead.
