I normally do a Morning Thoughts every weekday but a couple of times last week I really had nothing to say.
Is that scriptural?
Shouldn’t I always be able to talk about something that God has done for me?
Yes and no!
I can always talk about what God is doing in my life but should I!
The Bible tells us that even Jesus kept silent (Matt 26:63) at times.
Perhaps it is more that my mind was filled with so many other things like work, chores at home, Bible study for church, learning new songs for Praise & Worship, and doing Morning Thoughts that I just didn’t have any extra room to really put into the latter.
Isaiah knew what God was about to do and said, “My mind reels; my heart races. The sleep I once enjoyed at night is now a faint memory. I lie awake, trembling.” Isa 21:4 NLT
Maybe my thoughts weren’t on God at all.
Jesus said, “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.” Matt 6:21 NLT
It’s possible I thought more about work and chores than anything else.
Or I could have just been mentally, physically, and spritually tired.
I’ll have to take the words of Paul more to heart; There must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes. Eph 4:23 NLT
Let heaven fill your thoughts . Do not think only about things down here on earth. Col 3:2 NLT
How great it is to be reminded of what I should be looking at and thinking of.
Now maybe my thoughts will renew upon the Lord and I will be able to think more clearly about the lessons He teaches.
