I began thinking more about Earth Day and turning off the lights for an hour.

Don’t you believe that it is the mission of many to permanently douse the Light of Christ?

Why is that?

Because men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

Darkness hides what otherwise is seen.

For years many in this nation have operated under the cover of a darkness and have done immoral, unethical, illegal things that have recently come to light.

Men hide behind a cloak of darkness called politics and require us to pay taxes while they evade them.

Others keep dark secrets and steal millions of dollars from those that believe they see the light at the end of the financial tunnel.

And I believe that a greater danger exists for us.

I remember years ago going into one of the caves in central Texas.

In the midst of the tour the guide wanted to demonstrate how dark darkness was.

She turned out all of the lights.

You couldn’t see your hand in front of your face touching your nose.

I believe we are being shown a great light and utter darkness will surround us, like turning the lights off in a cave.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light , and light for darkness ; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isa 5:20

Trust in God and not in man.

Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; Ps 112:4
