Rich?

I saw where the CEO of GM, the one being forced to resign by the Administration, will part with a hefty pension plan of $25 Million.

Now that’s a lot of money for you and me.

I thought, “Gee, I would have retired years ago and lived off the pension!”

But the more you make the more you spend and people like that often have no sense of the value of things. (Do you think Paris Hilton knows the cost of a gallon of gasoline? Or cares?)

The outgoing CEO may spend $3 million a year just to keep his lifestyle going in which case he’d be broke in a little over 8 years.

It’s been reported by an ABC affiliate that former VP Al Gore used 221,000 kilowatt-hours in 2006, more than 20 times the national average of 10,656 kilowatt-hours.

That’s a light bill worth $30,000!

It also makes my little $170 bill look rather nice.

Of course you and I are rich compared to a good portion of the world.

At least we have electricity, internet, cars and trucks, tractors, 4-wheelers, TV’s, radios, DVD players, refrigerators, indoor plumbing… you get the idea.

But I am really rich where it counts the most.

Nothing I own can compare to Who owns me.

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, Jer 9:23-24
