Not A Christian Nation But A Diverse One

Have we condemned ourselves before God or are we setting ourselves up for a great revival?
The President said in Turkey, “One of the great strengths of the United States is we have a very large Christian population — we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”
Perhaps he is right!
We may believe that our nation was founded upon some Christian principles but, you must admit, we are far from being a Christian nation.
We have allowed immorality, corruption, and sin to rule our nation and the lives of our people.
We have taken the idea of Freedom of Religion and allowed it to over run us with any whim of doctrine and belief that exists.
Our nation is one of diversity and discrimination is not tolerated.
But is diversity, as we define it, is it in God’s plan?
Not when it comes to worshipping!
You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. Ex 23:24
You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were an alien in his land. Deut 23:7
And though they shouldn’t abhor the Egyptians, they were not to act like them either.
According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances. Lev 18:3
Diversity in sexual orientation is not highly thought of.
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Lev 18:22
Diversity in marriage wasn’t favorable.
Now therefore, do not give your daughters as wives for their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons; and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever. Ezra 9:12
When we become acceptable and tolerant of sinfulness then we begin to use diverse weights and diverse measures, they are both alike, an abomination to the LORD. Prov 20:10

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them  and walk among them. I will be their God and they shall be My people.”  Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, 2 Cor 6:14-17
