Last century, a worldwide epidemic – a pandemic – known as the Spanish flu killed tens of millions, though the same virus today might not be as deadly because medical care is so much better.
Another flu pandemic emerged in 1957. It was known as the Asian flu and killed an estimated one million people. A third but less serious pandemic, the Hong Kong flu, broke out in 1968.
Swine flu first came to widespread attention in 1976 after an outbreak in the United States. Health officials ordered mass vaccinations, fearing a repeat of the 1918 pandemic, but the disease never reached that level.
The new swine flu virus is actually a genetic mixture, containing bits of swine, bird, and human flu.
But is it as serious as we are being told.
Certainly it has the means to become a pandemic because it has stretched outside the originating country to several others; the U.S., New Zealand, Canada, Spain, Great Britain, Austria, and Israel.
Confirmed cases equal 127 outside Mexico, where the suspected cases are around 2500. 153 have died as of yesterday.
55 died in the regular flu season of 2008-2009.
Jesus said there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matt 24:7-8
A pestilence is an uncontrollable disease, a pandemic.
What we are facing is a flu epidemic outside of flu season.
The mixture gives me reason to think this is a manufactured concoction rather than one found in nature.
Could this be a natural occurrence or a terrorist threat?
While 95% of the news seems to be carrying the swine flu in their right hand, doesn’t it make you wonder what the left had is doing?
How convenient that Kathleen Sebelius was sworn in as Health and Human Services Secretary during a “health emergency”.
It would seem to me that more and more of our government officials are becoming the beginning of sorrows.
Get out my tin hat, LOL! But, this could have been a “trial run” by terrorists. A friend watched a video, on a prophecy site she visited, which showed a Muslim terrorist talking about how easy it would be for a bio-terrorist attack on the U.S. With the economic crisis here, as well as around the world, just think of the chaos if a really deadly disease outbreak would occur. The economic drain would strain every nation affected, since the current economic crisis is global. How easy then for someone to step forward with answers to all these problems, and valid solutions. The labor pains are getting closer together and harder. He who has eyes to see, let him see.
