Letter Of Encouragement

I wrote a letter of recommendation for one of the young men from church, who is about to graduate high school and continue to college.
I worded the letter very carefully and gave as glowing report of the young man that I possible could.
Letters have always had an important place in human history especially in the Bible.
Jezebel had Naboth killed when she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and the nobles who were dwelling in the city with Naboth. 1 Kings 21:8
The king of Israel received a letter from the king of Syria saying, “Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.” 2 Kings 5:6 (No pressure there!)
Letters were used to send commands; And he wrote in the letter , saying, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck down and die.” 2 Sam 11:15
Letters were used as invitations; And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the LORD God of Israel. 2 Chron 30:1
Letters were used to disrespect God; He also wrote letters to revile the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand.” 2 Chron 32:17-18
Letters were given as a sign of authority; This is a copy of the letter that King Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest, the scribe, expert in the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of His statutes to Israel: Artaxerxes, king of kings, To Ezra the priest, a scribe of the Law of the God of heaven: Perfect peace, and so forth. I issue a decree… Ezra 7:11-13
And most of the New Testament came into being by the writing of a letter; Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Rejoice. Change your ways. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet each other in Christian love. All the Christians here send you their greetings. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Cor 13:11-13 NLT
There’s a lot of power in letters so consider writing one today, whether it be an email, text message, twitter, blog, or a short handwritten note.
Encourage someone!
