I don’t believe the bride of Christ is a city, seeing as Revelation 21:2 says prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Further on it says then one of the seven angels …talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Rev 21:9-11
This Jerusalem has 12 gates and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. Rev 21:12
There are also 12 foundations and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. Rev 21:14
This looks representative of all the chosen of God, both Jew and Gentile, the Old and New Testament saints of God.
I believe that the bride is not the city but more the occupants of the city.
Let’s say my grandson is in my truck and you and I meet up in the parking lot of Wal-mart and want to see him.
I may say to you, “He’s over there” and point to my truck.
Do you think my grandson is a Toyota Tundra?
No, but you know he is INSIDE the truck.
And so the Bride is INSIDE the city, as the occupant and will be one with the Lamb, who (Jehovah-jireh) provides so well for us that there is no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. Rev 21:22-24
