Morning Thought With Pastor Tim

Yesterday I arrived at work and found a bill on my desk for $2400.
This was for a part that I had returned.
I went into the office and conferred with Vera over the invoice and we tried to find my original purchase order.
Then I made a call to our engineering firm to confirm the incident that caused me to return the merchandise.
Finally, with all my ducks in a row, I made the call to the business.
I told the lady in the accounting department that I had returned the item.
This is what she says; “I see that the item has been returned and there is a credit for $2400. So if I apply the return to the balance owed….hmmm…it cancels out.”
I probably sat there with in disbelief with my jaw on the floor for a moment.
“So…(I said)…we’re good?”
“Yes!” she said. “Everything is balanced out and you shouldn’t get any more invoices!”
I’m wondering why I had to make this call.
We didn’t owe anything to begin with!
That brings us to a Biblical principle; Pay all your debts , except the debt of love for others. You can never finish paying that! If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill all the requirements of God’s law. For the commandments against adultery and murder and stealing and coveting — and any other commandment — are all summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to anyone, so love satisfies all of God’s requirements.
