Separating Is A Bad Idea

Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. Gen 13:11
I think it’s a mistake to separate.
Families loose their identity when they do.
My own family has separated with Lindsey now in the Dallas area. I guess it could be worse; she could be a 2-hour plane flight away.
But her children will not know Linda and I as well as Haylee and Braeden do, seeing that they both live 5 minutes down the road.
In our scripture, Lot made some bad choices after he separated from Abraham.
It was Abraham that had made Lot a rich man. I believe it was because God blessed Abraham and then blessed Lot because of Abraham.
But Lot was enticed by the easy life of plenteous water and fertile land.
Then the big city lights caught his attention.
Too many believe the same thing about church too.
They separate themselves from the Body of Christ and begin a downhill spiral.
I know just such a man, raised in church, attended a Bible school, and yet is now homosexual and declares himself a Wiccan.
He separated himself from the brethren because he can’t be gay under church teaching; it is sin, an abomination.
Of course the church is also full of other “types” of sinners but at least they are in church striving to overcome their sin through Christ.
