Forgiveness Defined

What do you do about forgiveness?
Give it!
It is essential for your own Christian growth to continue.
Jesus said, “Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25-26
With unforgiveness in your heart, it will be impossible for you to be forgiven and, therefore, move forward.
I read a familiar verse and this morning it had a new meaning; If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained. John 20:23
It may be that the retained sin is retained by the unforgiving person.
That could be you!
In Eph 4:32 and Col 3:13 Paul said we should be forgiving one another.
Unforgiveness isn’t as obvious as murder or adultery.
It can be hidden out of sight from everyone around you.
It can be a secret sin that you harbor in your heart or it can be an obvious one when you spew venomous words from your mouth.
Forgiveness can also be hidden; it can be fake and pretentious.
Forgiveness doesn’t come from the mouth with, “I’m sorry.”
Forgiveness comes from the heart when you give a hug to your enemy and say, “Forgive me!”
