The Message From The Pulpit!

What should the message be in the church?
We can get in the pews and hear a message about the evils of our government.
We can talk about our disgust with taxes.
We can talk about the Supreme Court.
We can talk about the oil spill in the Gulf and the lack of response and efforts to stop the flow and clean the mess.
Yes, we can talk about all these things!
And which of these subjects will bring someone to Christ?
Which one will cause a wandering soul to be convicted of sin and repent?
What discussion will bring the masses running forward; arms stretched up, and crying, “Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner!”
None of the above!
In the early days of the church, Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. Acts 8:5
He did not preach the injustice of Roman rule!
He did not preach against Jewish hypocrisy and priestly corruption.
He did not walk into the city to bad mouth the mayor.
He preached Christ to them and the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. Acts 8:6
I don’t stand in the pulpit to talk about Islam or share my thoughts about a mega-church pastor!
There is no need to speak on philosophy, psychology, or sociology or voice my opinion about the President.
My pulpit is the megaphone to proclaim that JESUS IS LORD!
No other subject can change hearts like that message!

  2. Paul said, ” I preach Christ and Him crucified” If more Churches remembered to do that, there would be more folks becoming born again.

  3. I agree these topics aren’t what should be preached from the pulpit. However, it can be pointed out that the things that are happening are part of God’s plan, leading up to the Rapture of the Church, and the beginning of the Tribulation. That being said, it should encourage us to ask for God’s help to be better witnesses, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, win the lost for Jesus. I do believe that some of these topics need to be brought up, before Sunday School, and perhaps before the church service starts, as some may not be aware of what is happening. People who work during the day may not have an opportunity to hear about some of the outrageous things this administration is doing, or what they are proposing. We need to be aware of what is going on, and especially where Israel is involved as Israel is God’s timeline, and let’s us have a general idea of where we are in Bible prophecy. I believe we’re at the point where we need to have on the whole armor of God 24/7 as families are really coming under attack, from areas we would never think of. We have to remember that our enemy is very intelligent, and has scads of demons at his command, who’ve studied us and our families and know our weak areas. One of my favorite scriptures here lately is Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. And, we also need to remember to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. So many are lost, and a large number of them are from following the teachings of a false teacher, feel comfortable with what he or she is preaching, and that breaks my heart. What is even more heartbreaking are the Muslims and members of other false religions who will go to hell, and I pray daily that they will hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ at least once, and that the Holy Spirit will speak to their hearts. I do know that there is a Muslim woman in, I think Iraq, who was radically saved, after God reveled Himself to her in a dream. And, she’s winning many souls for Jesus, without regard for her life. Wish I could remember where I read about her so I could give the link.
    May God bless you!

  4. We should pray for this nation in the pulpit, and the people in authority. They are in desparate need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
