High School Reunion – I Don't Remember

Last Saturday evening I had my 35th high school reunion.
I’m wondering where those 35 years went. They came and left so quickly and silently.
I got reacquainted with a lot of old friends and semi-familiar faces.
But at one time in the evening one of the ladies walked by me; I stared at her name tag and she stared at mine.
We had no recollection of each other.
I don’t remember her.
She doesn’t remember me.
Now in a class of 426 that might be expected but I thought it was really sad that in the 4 years of high school neither of us remember the other.
I find the importance in this of getting to know as many people as possible.
It’s too late for me to go back to high school and do it but I can move forward and get to know those I come in contact with.
I would encourage students to get to know their fellow students so that when you have your 35 reunion you won’t do like me and say, “I don’t remember you!”
Speaking of which, there was a man that met Jesus one day for the first time.
They didn’t get to say a lot to each other; they didn’t share a meal together or walk and talk going down the road.
It was only for a few hours and both Jesus and this man were pretty busy…dying.
Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:39-43
Jesus did remember him because He promised too!
He’ll remember you too if you will accept Him as your Savior.
Don’t wait until your dying breath; do it today!
