Bless Yourself

Over the Labor Day weekend, Linda and I went to Beaumont, after church on Sunday.
We thought we’d make a short caching trip out of the extra day off.
While we had fun there was one sad sight that caught our attention.
Going through one small town there was a station wagon and a man standing by it with a sign that read, “Family has fallen on hard times. Would appreciate any help!”
If it’s legitimate, I feel so sorry for people like that.
I don’t know if the family is living out of the car or not.
I don’t know if they have any source of income other than pan-handling.
What I do know is that most everybody that is reading this is very blessed.
Chances are you have a computer and an Internet connection.
If you have those things, you most likely have a home.
Looks like you’re doing pretty good.
You know I hear from people every day; I read Facebook posts of those that downplay the blessings and goodness they have.
What they are looking at is what they don’t have, not what they do have!
In God’s word it says, “Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you.” Num 24:9
I often believe that many are cursed because they curse themselves!
We need to live in the blessing which is Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
He says, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
Live in the abundance of Jesus.
Speak blessing into your life and bless others in theirs!

  1. Had not thought of it that way… we disqualify ourselves for blessings when we try to live as if the Lord Jesus didn’t matter. Gratitude for what He has given us is a great step toward Him.

  2. I’m always thanking the Lord that we have a house that keeps us cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and dry when it’s raining. I’m thankful for indoor plumbing, hot and cold running water, having a fridge and freezer, plus a stove so that I can cook indoors. I know that in Third World countries, many of our brothers and sisters-in-Christ aren’t as blessed as we are. When I was about 3, the house we lived in had an outhouse. Mother had to boil water outside, and use a scrub board to wash the clothes, and hung them up on a clothesline. When she and my Daddy first got married, they lived in a tent, with a dirt floor. And, they appreciated the things they got later in life. We are the most blessed nation on Earth, and so many millions aren’t thankful or give thanks to the source of their blessings~~~God Almighty. May I always be thankful for the simplest things the Lord has blessed me with, and always give Him the honor and glory!
