The following news story is true.
A 57-year-old woman said she was at her home in northwest Oklahoma City when a man knocked on her door, asking to use the phone.
The woman told police she was scared and told the robber, “I can’t help you.”
But the woman said the man claimed it was an emergency, so she handed him a phone to use on the front porch.
Officers said when the woman reached to take the phone back, the man pushed her into the house and slammed the door.
The woman said he pulled out a gun and said, “I want some money. Give me your money.”
She didn’t have any money, she said, so he said, “Give me your jewelry.”
The victim said she didn’t have any valuable jewelry but that she would go to Walmart and get some cash.
The woman told police the man said, “I’m not stupid,” and “I just got out of prison. I need some money.”
That’s when she told him: “God changed my life. He can change yours.”
That’s when she said the man laughed and said, “I have a master’s degree in theology.”
She offered the robber a Bible. That’s when he sighed, put the gun down to his side, said “I’m leaving,” and ran out the door.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Eph. 6:17
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Heb. 4:12, 13
I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one. 1 John 2:14
How many times do we forget we don’t have to win the victory. Christ did that! All we have to do is realize it & walk in it. (one of my spects, I forget)
