It Only Takes A Moment To Change

Linda and I did some geocaching on Saturday.
We turned up an gas well road in the direction of the cache.
I wasn’t sure about proceeding so I stopped for a moment.
Up ahead of us, one of those motorized mule’s came roaring around the curve and almost turned over, wobbling back and forth until the woman driving reestablished control.
Had I kept going we might have met on that curve and that would have been disastrous; it almost was anyway.
I’ve realized that it only takes a moment, a split second for a life to change.
Take your eyes off the road for just a second and you could be trying to avoid a wreck the next.
The news is full of people living their lives, enjoying life and family and the next moment someone is gone.
Change doesn’t just happen for the worse but it also happens to improve for the better.
This happened to me in 1975.
I was living and loving life, having fun with no worries; not a care in the world.
My biggest decision was asking a girl out, deciding what movie to see, and where to eat.
But on January 15th of that year, I prayed to Jesus to forgive my sins and to save my soul.
My life changed instantly, in a moment, perhaps in the twinkling of an eye.
And I continue to change every day as God’s word moulds my heart and mind.
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is changing lives everywhere, just as it changed yours that very first day you heard and understood the truth about God’s great kindness to sinners. Col 1:6 NLT
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Rom 12:2 NLT

If you’re going through difficult times today, hold steady. It will change soon. If you are experiencing smooth sailing and easy times now, brace yourself. It will change soon. The only thing you can be certain of is change. ~JAMES C. DOBSON
