A trip to Wal-mart ended up in our plans on Saturday. We had the grandchildren with us and soon we were shopping through the children’s section.
With the weather beginning to change, Linda thought Braeden could use a new ski-cap for his little head.
I thought I could use one too and took one off the rack.
Linda told me that this was the kids section and I needed to go over to the adult department.
So I did.
What I found was a cap with the exact same tag and manufacture number but at $1 more.
Is this the American way of operating; to charge more money for the exact same product in the same store?
I am appalled!
Heaven’s price for entry never varies and never wavers.
It is best illustrated by this parable of Jesus.
For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’
“So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. Matt 20:1-15
Jesus has paid the price for you and for me and the price has been the same – His Blood!

I realize this parable is about our Lord’s giving of Himself and not what we earn. We are the more blessed, because we have experienced more of Him. I am so very glad God is full of patience & love. The same patience & love He showed the disciples when they didn’t understand. Scriptures says it is a terrable thing to fall into the hands of the living God. So for the sake of those who use gifts encorrectly, abuse others, live to satisfy self…I know they will stand before my God and give an account of their lives. I do find comfort in the knowledge of what Heaven will be for me, soon and eternal.

When I got out of the Navy, I worked for my Dad at this automotive repair shop. If someone had a Cadillac and you needed parts for it, you didn’t tell the GM dealer you needed Caddy parts, but needed parts for a Chevrolet. Much cheaper, but as you clearly stated, the price for our eternal life has been paid for in full by our Lord Jesus!
