And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:1-7
Earlier this year you may have found a bag hanging on your doorknob, on a gate, or even tied to a tree next to your driveway entrance; it was the US Census, which takes place every 10 years.
The results came out earlier this week giving more representation to some states and less to others.
The Census defines the shape and population growth of the United States.
But the US Government is not concerned about the spiritual population growth.
They don’t care if you have experienced salvation or not.
It really doesn’t matter to “them” if you are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or an atheist.
Pay your taxes, don’t cause trouble, and do what you’re told and your good with the Government.
It is up to We The People to increase the census of salvation!
Each can do their part in sharing the Gospel with someone else.
Sometimes it’s not easy to do and it seems like no one is home and you have to leave the Gospel message on the door of their heart.
As Paul said, “I planted , Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.” 1 Cor 3:6
With each doing his or her part, we’ll see the heavenly population increase!
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Rev 7:9-10
