Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry because the plant died?”
“Yes,” Jonah retorted, “even angry enough to die!” Jonah 4:9 NLT
Anger is a problem that everyone faces and, like Jonah, you may feel justified when you are angry.
Someone did something to you; talked behind your back, stole from you, lied about you, so you feel righteous about anger.
I once heard that what angers you will control you.
Let me ask you if your anger will improve or change someone else for the better?
Will your anger lead someone to Jesus?
A hard question followed by a hard answer.
I become angry at injustice and unfairness; I’m angry as to why the wicked prosper and good people lack.
I’m also reminded by His word that God is angry with the wicked every day. Ps 7:11
That should be enough; let God deal with it.
I am instructed don’t sin by letting anger gain control over you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Ps 4:4 NLT
Next time you get angry think about Cain.
When he became angry, murder wasn’t far off!
