When I purchased a tractor a few years ago, I went to a local dealer, Bob Evans.
Bob passed away this week but he has a legacy that will live on.
I was told this by one of my church men, who was also in the market for a tractor.
He had been searching around, mostly on the Internet, for a good deal.
One day his wife stopped in to see Bob and asked him what his absolute best price was on a certain tractor.
He gave her the quote.
She told her husband, who continued to search for something a little better.
He finally found a better deal on the exact same tractor and stopped by to see if Bob would beat that price.
Bob told him that he couldn’t because he had told his wife a certain price, “and if I change it, I wouldn’t be a man of my word!”
He bought his tractor from Bob!
People can be remembered for being movie star, a singer, a politician, or some leader of a national company; but its little things like integrity that will beat them all and Bob will be remembered for this!
The Bible says let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. Matt 5:37
I can appreciate someone whose word is as good as a contract.
This is why I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is written of Him, all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Cor 1:20
Jesus will also keep all His promises; and they are many!
He will not change His mind and hand out better mansions; nor will He change His word and decree less judgment.
We should be as He is; For I am the LORD, I do not change; Mal 3:6
