“Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.” Est 5:13
Remember last time how Haman allowed the non-actions of Mordecai to ruin his day.
Haman went home, gathered his friends and family, and then bragged about his life; Haman told them of his great riches, the multitude of his children, everything in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the officials and servants of the king. Moreover Haman said, “Besides, Queen Esther invited no one but me to come in with the king to the banquet that she prepared; and tomorrow I am again invited by her, along with the king. Est 5:11-12
He had a wife, children, home, job, friends, and an invitation to a private banquet with the king and queen; and still that it’s all spoiled by the thought of Mordecai.
Haman harbored hatred, bigotry, pride, and unforgiveness inside!
It was a cancer eating him alive and consuming every thought.
Instead of enjoying life, he was trapped by it.
I could live like Haman; I could look at everyone else and complain, moan, groan, wallow, cuss, and drown myself in a bottle of booze.
But I’m blessed and happy.
It is written “You are already full! You are already rich!” 1 Cor 4:8
I claim that word from the Lord.
First, I know Him as my Lord and Savior; I realize that He is in my life everyday and has made preparations for me in the future; and not me only, but for all that have put their trust and hope in Him.
I don’t look at circumstances; I try to see what God is saying; what He is teaching.
I’ll admit my wife, Linda, is much better at it than I am.
She is able to see the silver lining on the most gray of days.
How about you?
Do you see the good in things?
Do you have a positive attitude towards others?
Or are you a Haman?
