Last night an insurance sales lady stopped by and after a few minutes of idle chit-chat, we got down to business.
During the presentation she showed a list of names of those in the area that have insurance with her company.
Linda noticed one name and said, “She died in July!”
The insurance lady was shocked and said she’d have to check into it.
Later on I noticed the name of someone that has been dead since 1998!
I began to wonder just how many names on the list actually have a policy with them and how many have dropped it; I know we couldn’t afford it.
After they left Linda and I talked about the list.
I jokingly said, “I don’t think the dead need any insurance!”
But after some thought I’ve come to the conclusion that the living don’t need insurance either; what we need is assurance!
That can be found in the promises of Jesus Christ.
Each of us is invited to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. Heb 10:22
You can stand in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began. Titus 1:2
It is the promise and the assurance that those that place their life into the hands of the Lord Jesus will receive the forgiveness of sin, a more abundant life, and eternal life.
The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. Isa 32:17
You will pay and pay and pay for insurance in this life and never get a good return.
I have made a couple of claims and the check they send never covers the cost of repair or the entire doctor bill.
And there is that deductible always hanging over your head.
But Jesus has already paid the price for you and you will get a good return – Jesus Himself!
Plus there is no deductible!
It’s the best assurance insurance you’ll get!
