Entertain an angel!

There is some scripture, neatly tucked away in Hebrews, that you may have read at one time or another; don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Heb 13:2
I don’t know if you take this to heart but I do.
I remember the time I became trapped behind a funeral procession on my way home.
I was in a line of 50 doing 50 mph and there was no need in trying to get around anyone. But suddenly to my amazement, a car passed me on the shoulder. Then looking ahead I could see the same car trying to pass others on the shoulder, in the other lane, even around a curve in a no passing zone.
Then I drove by a car that was off the road in the mud.
I could see that it was not damaged and a woman was still behind the wheel. She looked unhurt.
I pulled over, let the traffic behind me go on ahead, and then I U-turned back to where she was stuck.
Can you guess what happened? The passing car had to veer suddenly into the driving lane and she was forced off the road.
One other vehicle pulled over to help me pull her out.
She was appreciative of someone stopping and I told her it was the Christian thing to do.
Looking back I believe she was a real person but perhaps she was angelic.
She may think the same of me.
Or maybe the two men that stopped to help were angels.
I may never know because some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

  1. To me it all has to do with just loving one another no matter what we think others are, rich/poor…jeerers, if we knew without a dought an angel asisted us wouldn’t we be proud. God resistes the proud. He also tells us to resist the devil. I don’t want God to resist me. I need Him to much every moment! God uses us in His perfect way, in His perfect time. Who knows the effect our small “Christian” act will have in someones spirit. I walked passed a woman, Afrcian-American, turned & looked at her. She came to me. Her mother, aged, was very ill. The hug & encouraging works I spoke to her about Gods love broke the hopelessness on her. They renewed her engery. The enemy lost that one!

  2. I know of at least two times when I received angelic help. Once was on a Wednesday evening before Church, Another was when our son was about 10 and I got stuck under a bridge on HWY 94 west of Lufkin while we were fishing. It would take awhile to tell everything, but I may just blog about it.
