A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley will cost a day’s pay. Rev 6:6
I don’t like filling up the tank these days! It is getting more and more costly as the price of gas has risen everyday for the past 15 days. I know you know how it feels.
Prices seem to be on the increase with everything from postage stamps to food, insurance to construction materials; everything is on the up, up, and up.
Everything is going up except your salary; right?
Things can get much worse and I believe the Bible gives a glimpse of those days. Imagine spending a $64 for a loaf of bread!
What will a tank of gas cost? What will a gallon of milk, your cell phone, or a 2×4 cost?
It will be more imperative to find things to do that cost little or are free.
I have discovered that is cost me nothing to love someone! Whether it’s my wife, my children, grandchildren, or a stranger – love is free.
Sure my wife enjoys a date night or a bouquet of flowers but if she doesn’t get those things every day, or even once a month, she doesn’t hold it against me and say, “You don’t love me anymore!”
It cost me nothing to pray. It cost me nothing to worship God. It cost me nothing to read my Bible. God does not charge me to talk with Him, raise my hands in praise to Him, or study about Him.
God doesn’t run a tab on the blessings He gives to me.
Morality doesn’t cost me anything. I am not charged for doing what is right, pure, and virtuous.
It doesn’t cost me anything to tell someone about Jesus. And that may be the biggest savings ever; the saving of a soul!
Why is it that so many things are so costly and the price keeps rising, while everything that is connected with God is free?
Because God bought you with a high price. 1 Cor 6:20
Jesus has bought and paid for our freedom from sin with His own life; His own blood!
In hard times turn to God; He has seen many through hard times before! If He can take care of millions in the wilderness for 40 years, then surely He can take care of you!

We see where God feed Elijah via raven. In my thinking it was cast away food scraps. But, after going through some hard times & relying solely on the Lord for a meal for the whole family. I have learned Father God does not give scraps to His children! It’s only the best. At times I thought I wanted something different, but I ‘ve learned to be content with what I have. The need has been fully met. Harder times are comming! God is faithful! His children will not have to beg for bread! Father said so. Watch & pray & be thankful we were chosen to be loved by the one & only, living God. The Lord Jesus Christ.
