Marked!

They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. Rev 22:4
Remember the story The Scarlet Letter about a Puritan woman that committed adultery and was forced to wear a large “A” on her clothing as a sign to others of what she had done.
In one state it’s been suggested that repeat sex offenders to wear some special clothing in public so everyone will know their offense.
In another state someone has started a campaign to give three-strike DUI offenders a pink license plate to distinguish their problem to others.
I have mixed emotions about all of this. While it would be nice to know what kind of person is standing next to your children in Wal-mart or what kind of driver is headed toward you and your family on the road; is it an invasion of privacy or a violation of that person’s rights?
Does a repeat offender or drunk driver need to surrender their rights when they could be a hazard to society?
Many convicted felons relinquish their right to vote or hold office because of their offense.
There will come a time when many in the world will wear with pride a mark on their hands or foreheads and that speaks volumes as to what they believe and they will not believe it is an invasion of their privacy.
But set all that aside and let’s talk about Christians.
Shouldn’t we have a “mark” on us to distinguish us from everyone else?
Shouldn’t others be able to look at us and see the Father in our actions?
I’m not talking a tattoo, a cross around the neck, a t-shirt, or bumper sticker, but a genuinely different look from everyone else.
Be different, stand out in the crowd, let everyone that sees you know Who and what you stand for and Who you belong to.
Live like a Christian – live for Jesus.
