When Texas high school playoffs begin, the crowd also begins to increase.
Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and even neighbors will drive several hours to watch the team play.
Anyone that knows anyone on the team will show up for the game.
And should the team make the state playoff, then even more will make a motel reservation for the stay in the Austin area.
It is not just high school sports that cause a crowd explosion; look at the number of people that will buy outrageously expensive ticket to the Super Bowl, not to mention how many will stay home and watch it on TV.
There have been times I’ve gone to a playoff and our side was full, while the opponent’s side was virtually empty.
I was saddened over the lack of support that was given to that team.
One place there should be plenty of support and a big crowd is church.
As Christians we are already victorious; He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15:57
So why is it that victorious Christians have a relatively small crowd on Sunday?
Is it because we are already victorious and there is no need to gather together with each other and declare victory?
Would the people that come to worship and praise God be greater in numbers if heavenly entry was determined by church attendance rather than the blood of Jesus?
If you were to look at the crowds on Sunday’s, you would think the other side was winning and for now, they may be.
But the day comes when the crowd reflects the victory, when we see a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Rev 7:9-11
Be victorious! Come to church with the other victor’s and worship the One that gives us victory!
kilroy was here,
He will be victorious also

There is a divine reason why we are told in scripture to not forsake the assemble of ourselves, belivers. I find wisdom amoung them, acceptance, love, hope, and the presance of my Lord. Yes these things can be found in the home setting, BUT much more so in the gathering of belivers. Last Sunday was unique! Lots of wonderful laughter. Had I stayed home, I’d missed it. The message, as useual was great. Father God always has something just for me. What it comes down to is a personal choise, ? ? who is loved the most??
