While standing in the checkout line, I notice there are two types of people; those that are ready to check out and those that are not.
Those that are ready start loading there items on the conveyor as soon as there is enough room for an item or two.
They have their coupons in hand, start loading their grocery cart with the bagged items, and are ready to scan their debit card or fill in their check.
Those that are not ready do completely the opposite.
They wait until nearly every item has been scanned for the person in front of them before placing items on the conveyor.
They don’t load up their own bags of groceries but wait for the checker to do it for them.
And they never scan the debit card or write the check until all items are scanned and bagged.
The only thing they are ready for is to delay the rest of the line behind them from moving forward.
There are also two types of people in life; those that are ready to “check out” and those that are not.
Jesus said, “You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” Luke 12:40
Many are ill-prepared for the impending day; the return of Jesus!
They are not ready for something they most certainly should be prepared for.
Jesus is also getting ready for that day; Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. John 14:1-3
Did you read that?
There is more than enough room in the Father’s house for all.
All you have to do is get ready!
Confess your sinfulness to God and accept the gift of forgiveness in Jesus’ name. Invite Jesus into your heart and soul to be Lord of your life.
Follow Him in scriptural baptism as an testimony to others that you are dead to sin and risen alive to newness of life in Christ.
Then share with someone else that they need to get ready!
Hummmmm no other responces and look how late it is. I am (I think) ready to met Jesus face to face. I do look forward to that. I love Him so much I’ll talk to anyone , anytime , anywhere about Jesus & getting to live with Him for all eternity. Even if it means slow up the check out line.
