It’s going to be hail!

There has been a rash of really bad weather lately. Recently the Dallas/Ft. Worth area suffered through 55 severe thunderstorm warnings and 18 tornado warnings.
There were 17 confirmed tornadoes, including three EF-2’s and one EF-3.
My daughter and son-in-law both work in the north of Dallas and suffered some hail damage on their vehicles.
Hail can accompany large thunderstorms and tornadic activity. Recently the hail has been getting larger with some baseball size falling around several storms.
This morning the Weather Channel ran a segment on hail size.
Penny size hail is up to ¾ of an inch in diameter and has little affect.
Quarter size hail is to 1 inch in diameter and can damage shingles.
Golf ball size hail is up to 1 ¾ inch and can dent vehicles.
Finally baseball size hail is 2 ¾ inches and can break windshields.
Also reported this morning was 4-inch hail in New Mexico.
The largest hailstone ever measured in the United States fell at Coffeyville, Kansas, on September 3, 1970. It weighed 1.67 pounds and measured 5.5 inches in diameter.
Hail is mentioned throughout the Bible too!
The 7th plague on Egypt was hail.
Job was asked, “Have you visited the storehouses of the snowor seen the storehouses of hail? (I have reserved them as weapons for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war.)” Job 38:22-23
With that in mind, in the days of Joshua the Amorites retreated down the road from Beth-horon, the Lord destroyed them with a terrible hailstorm from heaven that continued until they reached Azekah. The hail killed more of the enemy than the Israelites killed with the sword. Josh 10:11
But nothing can compare to what is written in Rev 16:21 – There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing seventy-five pounds fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.
Can you imagine 75-pound hail?
That will not only smash shingles, dent cars, and break windshields; but it will kill people and destroy buildings. It will leave craters in dirt and damage roadways.
And as hard as tornadoes are to predict, hailstorms are just as difficult. Yet God has sent a warning that the “big one” is coming.
Protect yourself from the hailstorm of Revelation; accept Jesus as Savior. Be one that will bless the name of the Lord; not curse God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm!
