There is always a conspiracy story floating around.
I heard recently that the sinking of the Titanic was not an accident but was a conspiracy to sink the ship and the captain was in on it.
By the way, the captain died in that tragedy.
President Lincoln was assassinated. Was it a conspiracy against him?
President Kennedy was also assassinated. Was there another conspiracy against him?
Islamic radicals flew three planes into three buildings killing thousands. Was there a conspiracy against all of those people?
Were the radicals after just one person that had ticked them off and took out many more just to make sure they got the one?
Or was it a conspiracy against a nation?
From our scripture, why were Joseph’s brothers conspiring against him?
Was it because dad gave him a coat of many colors?
He had dreams that indicated that that his father and brothers would bow down to him. This only made them angry with him.
Joseph didn’t have to work like his brothers; perhaps this was the source of their dislike for him.
It was obvious that this was dad’s favorite son so why didn’t they conspire to get rid of dad? He seems to be the source of the problem.
They didn’t know it but they were mad because God was saving their lives and He was using Joseph.
The conspiracy was not so much from Joseph’s brothers; it was more like God was conspiring against them to keep the house and nation of Israel alive and thriving.
Perhaps there is a conspiracy from God to get our attention to return to Him in repentance and faith.
Maybe we should quit blaming the President, the Congress, the oil companies, the banks, Wall Street, and the CEO’s.
It’s time we let blame fall on us!
The conspiracy is from God to bring about His word: if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chron 7:14
