Get to know someone!

As Saul watched David go out to fight the Philistine, he asked Abner, the commander of his army, “Abner, whose son is this young man?”
“I really don’t know,” Abner declared. 1 Sam 17:55
David shows up in the Israeli camp and declares that he will go fight the Philistine champion, Goliath.
The aspect of someone fighting appealed to King Saul, who did offer his own sword and armor.
But what did Saul know about David?
Absolutely nothing!
It was sufficient for the king to just have someone fight so Israel wouldn’t lose face, even if that person was killed.
In church we are not much better than Saul.
We’re just glad someone has filled a seat and put a few bucks in the coffer.
Many church members don’t and won’t take the time to greet each other much less a visitor.
I have had others tell me they went to this church or that church and no one spoke to them.
Unbelievable!
Think about this, if people are going to get ignored in a place that says “we love everybody” then they may as well stay home.
If we are Christ’s ambassadors and ignore others then how does that reflect upon Christ? And who is ultimately responsible?
Everyone in church!
Every time you enter church take time to visit with those around you especially visitors.
Don’t let a stranger ever say of your church, “they don’t know me, they don’t care to!”
