On the way home from our anniversary weekend, we were just south of Alto, Tx when I noticed the minivan that had been following me for the past 50 miles decided to speed pass me.
It wasn’t a big deal since we were on a 4-lane with a wide turning median.
Suddenly I noticed the van veer to the left across the other lane, through the median, and head-on into the oncoming traffic.
I shouted, “What is he doing?” and I thought I was about to witness a head-on accident.
One pickup truck dodged the van by going into the median.
The van continued through the other lane and onto the shoulder. It thought it was about to run into the trees; but it stopped on the shoulder of the opposite direction of traffic.
I don’t know what happened; whether he fell asleep or was texting but it was the closest near miss I’ve seen in a while.
And though he escaped an accident and possible injury or death, this escape cannot continue.
It is written no one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave. Ps 89:48
There are so many people that are going the wrong way and heading towards an accident they will not survive.
There is only one way to escape and that is through Jesus!
So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? Heb 2:3
You may have a near miss in this life but there will be no near misses in judgment. There is no “almost”, “just about” or “it was a close call”.
It is a finality when Jesus speaks those words, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” Matt 7:23
Accept Jesus as your Savior and avoid a fatal accident!
I’ve been in many “near miss’ .” Actualy I say it was a feather withe between & I thank God He is always with me!
