When it comes to end-time events, most look at the words of Jesus in this discourse with the disciples.
Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?”
Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. Matt 24:3-8
There is a whole list of things, many of which have been happening since He said these things. There has always been war with nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom.
Certainly there have been famines and definitely there have been earthquakes.
The earthquakes are unpredictable except for their locations.
It’s common for earthquakes to occur in California, Japan, Indonesia, or parts of the Caribbean; but east Texas has experienced 2 in the past 2 weeks. The same area around Timpson was hit with a 4.3 early this morning.
This is very unusual!
I don’t think an earthquake in my area is enough to usher the return of the Lord, especially when He said there is more to come.
The best thing anyone can do is prepare for His return through repentance and salvation in Jesus.
He will return when things are right for it and not a moment sooner.
“Yes, I am coming soon!”
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! Rev 22:20
I am told that everyone has believed that Jesus would return in their life time. I do believe He will return in my life time. I could be wrong. So, I practice being ready to die at any time. I ever want a closer relatonship with Him. To go deeper into His heart. I do know His strongest hearts desire is to see people come into the saving grace of Christ, & then to grow in Him. To be overcommers. Fear should not be apart of our lives. Our steps are ordered. If we find ourselves in a place of danger perhaps we should ask the Lord, “who do You want me to incurage, Lord.” Mean while Our Father God will provide all our needs.
