Boundary around your body.

Another boundary that needs to be set is around your body. This boundary is to keep others out.
It is written be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. 1 Cor 16:13
You need to set your principles and stand firm in them.
As an example, I was raised that pre-marital sex was not pleasing to God, which is a true principle from His word. I stuck to it. But today’s young people and even some adults have removed that boundary from their body.
Young men and women need to protect the virtue that God has given them to give to that one person that choose to spend a lifetime with.
You need a boundary around your senses; what you see and what you hear.
David said, “Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things.” Ps 119:37
Certainly there is an attack against our spirit from what we watch and see. Though I like television, there are many things on there not fit to watch.
What you listen to can also affect your spirit.
I heard a story that as President Lincoln’s cabinet was assembling for a meeting, one of the cabinet members said, “I have a joke to tell and since there are no ladies present..” He was cut off by the President who said, “No, but there are gentlemen!” The joke was not told.
I don’t know the validity of this story but it serves to tell that you have the right not to listen to trashy, vulgar talk.
Another boundary around your body is what you share of yourself.
You can share with someone your past or a problem that you may be facing and before you know it, everyone else knows it too. Be cautious of how much information you dole out.
Don’t let others into your space too quickly. Set a boundary and allow them to get to know you (and you them) slowly.
The Bible says “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” Matt 7:6
So be careful how much of yourself you share.

  1. yes, this is very true. Having experienced firsthand a supposed confidential revelation from my wife to a former pastor of ours and later, hearing about it from a member of the Church. Betrayal comes from many sources.
