Is it practical to follow the Father’s requirement for a genuine fast?
According to Isaiah 58:6, it is more than doing without food.
Isa 58:6
“No, this is the kind of fasting I want:

1. Free those who are wrongly imprisoned;
2. Lighten the burden of those who work for you.
3. Let the oppressed go free and
4. Remove the chains that bind people.
5. Share your food with the hungry and
6. Give shelter to the homeless.
7. Give clothes to those who need them and
8. Do not hide from relatives who need your help.

There are a couple of ways to look at this. If you look at it literally then each needs no explanation and would be difficult for many to do. For instance, you may no control to release innocent prisoners; only lawyers, judges, and a governor may be able to do that.
But if you look at this spiritually then it takes on a different meaning; ways in which it will apply to you.
