Three Views of Me (and you)

There are three ways in which I am looked upon, viewed, or known.
1 – The way I see me.
I am born-again, redeemed, saved, and a Christian. Much that I do is because I believe it is right according to what the word of God says. I read it, I understand it, and I act upon it. Of course, what I read and believe may not always be the same as someone else.
That brings us to the second point.
2 – The way others see me.
Others will not always have the same belief and thoughts about me. So when I act upon something that I see as right, someone that doesn’t see it that way may think differently of me.
I try to live my Christianity in all that I do, whether it’s working, playing, leisure, politics, shopping, or whatever.
So I think I am right in the way I act in doing these things and the way I live my life; some may disagree.
Finally there is what ultimately counts.
3 – The way God sees me.
It doesn’t matter a whole lot about what I believe about myself or what others believe about me; it is what God knows about me that really matters.
I cannot conceal my feelings, my thoughts, or my ways from God.
It is written don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. James 1:22-25
I want to live God’s word.
I think everyone should but I’m not foolish enough to believe everyone will.
And there again, we each look at ourselves in a different way from that of others or God.
We fulfill the scripture by glancing at ourselves and forgetting what we look like.
Oh that God and others would say I look like Jesus. I don’t think I do.
