I believe the Creator

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Gen 1:1
I remember watching a bit of Bill Nye The Science Guy back in the 90’s.
Now he has waded in on the creation vs evolution debate.

Bill is urging parents not to pass their religious-based doubts about evolution on to their children.
“The Earth is not 6,000 or 10,000 years old,” Nye said in an interview. “It’s not. And if that conflicts with your beliefs, I strongly feel you should question your beliefs.”

I personally would rather take the word of the Creator over that of the created!

I know no one was around when God began creating but He seems to talk about it quite a bit.

He says it only took six days; So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. Gen 2:1-3
Some would say that these days were longer than the ones we have today but they seem to indicate one rotation of the earth (the evening and the morning) and the word used here is used much later in the Old Testament writings for a “day”.

Others, before us, believed God is the Creator.
Job 26:10 -He created the horizon when he separated the waters; he set the boundary between day and night.
Ps 89:11 – The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; everything in the world is yours—you created it all.
Isa 42:5 – God, the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out.
He created the earth and everything in it.
Amos 5:8 – It is the Lord who created the stars, the Pleiades and Orion.

The Gospels declare the creative work of God.
John 1:3-4 – God created everything through him [Jesus], and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

Finally, Paul also addressed the issue.
Rom 8:19-22 – For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.
Certainly the curse that it speaks about is the death and decay that creation is facing since the fall of man.
I believe part of this curse it the belief that life gave itself life and evolved into what is seen today.

So with all of this evidence (and my faith) I believe what God the Creator has said over what man the created thinks!
